Found this on Michelle Gregory’s blog.
1. Hardback or trade paperback or mass market paperback? Hardback if it’s a classic. Trade paperback usually preferred otherwise (less expensive, easier to hold), but regardless – MY BOOKS MUST MATCH. If it’s a series, and it doesn’t match – yanks hair out – it drives me nuts.
2. Amazon or brick-and-mortar? (buying online or in a store?)
Amazon suits my wallet better, but I love spending hours in a bookstore.
3. Amazon or the Co-Op Bookstore? Co-Op Bookstore?
4. Barnes & Noble or Borders? Either.
5. Bookmark or dog ear? Bookmark! Dog ear-ing is sacrilegious.
6. Alphabetize by author, or alphabetize by title, or random? None of the above. Group by author and subject.
7. Keep, throw away, or sell? Only throw away if it contains cultic material. Sell it if I don’t care for it. Keep all others. J
8. Keep dust jacket or toss it? Keep it.
9. Read with dust jacket on or remove it? On – makes a good bookmark. J
10. Short story or novel? Both at different times.
11. Collection (short stories by same author) or anthology (short stories by different authors)? Either.
12. Harry Potter or Lemony Snicket? Never read either, but I’d read Snicket before Potter.
13. Stop reading when tired, or at chapter breaks? Chapter breaks.
14. “It was a dark and stormy night” or “Once upon a time”? Both at different times. Both are good.
15. Buy or Borrow? I prefer a library – oh joy! So many books, no money spent (unless of course, I let them run overdue). But I like to have my own, too.
16. New or used? Either, so long as they almost new.
17. Buying choice: book reviews, recommendation, or browse? For BUYING, recommendation. My friends know what I like better than reviewers.
18. Tidy ending or cliffhanger? If it’s a cliffhanger, there’d better be a sequel.
19. Morning, afternoon or night-time reading? All times are a good time to read.
20. Stand alone or series? Either.
21. Favorite series? Don’t know. Haven’t read many in the past few years.
22. Favorite book of which nobody else has heard? I would say A Severe Mercy, but I think more people have heard of that than I once thought…
23. Favorite books read last year? In the last year, or last year? I’ll answer for IN the last year. Arena (Karen Hancock), The Chronicles of Narnia – reread – (C.S. Lewis)…can’t think of others off the top of my head. I studied more than I read.
24. Favorite books of all time? Ben-Hur, by Lew Wallace.
