My WIP is now at 16,408 words. I have updated my little counter in the sidebar to evidence this. I love that little dude (what is he, anyway? I think he looks like a potato…but who knows). I can put him in different moods as well as update my count.

Also updated the “new quote” box. Hehe. Matthew Pearl’s writing is very intriguing. I read The Dante Club and really enjoyed it, so I thought I’d try his newest one.

I found a comment on a previous post (sometimes I don’t see those for awhile, so if you’re asking a question it’s probably best to put your comment on the newest post! :D ) asking about the Guild I’m always talking about. I am referring to the Christian Writers Guild, headed by Jerry B. Jenkins (of Left Behind fame), and yes, there are writing courses. Be forewarned, they are not easy – but so far (I am approaching the finish on the Apprentice course) well worth it!

A lot has happened since I last posted regularly on here. First my computer wouldn’t let me access my blog. Boohoo. :’( That was hard. Then when it did, I couldn’t SEE anything I posted. Yuck. Then there’s this other news…

I’m married! :D And I’ve moved 1,100 miles. Does that explain the phrase “I’ve been sooooo busy?”

Now I’m just trying to get into the swing of things with a new schedule and a new life. My husband works nights, getting home at 1 am or 5 am, depending on whether he works an 8 hour or a 12 hour shift (or horrors, a 16). I stay up at least until 1 – heavenly for a night owl like myself. We had a crazy first few weeks, but I think we’re settling into what will be “normal” for us, at least for a few months. So. Must find time for normal living stuff, school, writing, and married stuff. Not in that order, of course.

I think my writing time is going to have to be in the evening. My brain seems to be the most active then. I’d like to workout around 9, shower, and then come back to work on writing for a few hours. Now just finding the discipline to actually do the working out part. :P

Something about this new place I’m living in: the library is an hour away. AN HOUR! I was so spoiled! However, we are renting a room from my in-laws at present, and they have a very nice library of their own. I’ve been re-reading some favorites, like Call of the Wild and White Fang, as well as reading some classics I hadn’t gotten around to yet, like The House of Seven Gables, Tarzan (classic? lol), Captains Courageous, Ivanhoe, etc.

Also trying to find something else to do. I’m looking into volunteering with a local golden retriever rescue operation, something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. Speaking of golden retrievers…I miss my baby!! I had to leave him with my parents for a few months. Sniff sniff. I miss him so much, especially when Adam’s gone in the evenings. Hopefully no later than August I’ll have him back.
